Truly thankful people:
-Are happy, because they are content
with the material goods they already have.
-Hold on to their possessions loosely, because they
believe what the Lord gives, he can also take away.
-Are generous, because they understand that
everything entrusted to them is a gift of God.
-Are merciful, because they realize how much
mercy they have received from their Savior.
-Are free of any bigotry, because they do not
consider themselves better than other humans.
-Joyfully walk in Holiness, because they
do not take their Salvation for granted.
-Are the most appreciative of any kindness from
others, because they feel very undeserving of it.
-Are humble, therefore, they do not need to boost
their ego by out-doing their peers with earthly wealth.
-Do not unduly complain about the moral decline
of society, they set out to change themselves instead.
-Focus on their relationship to their Creator,
because they know that therein are True Riches.
-Do not pine about the good old days, because
they enjoy the blessings each new day presents to them.
Listening to the majority of the professing people of God today, one would think the conditions in the world, or their personal situation must drastically change before they are able to be thankful. In the Bible, however, our Creator commands us to be thankful for everything and in all circumstances. Furthermore, he clearly mandates us to overflow with thanksgiving!
Thus, from these Scriptures and other similar Biblical passages, we can rightly judge that if an individual is genuinely redeemed through Jesus Christ, then thankfulness will be a trademark of his or her Salvation. Certainly, we realize that the phrase “A complaining Christian” is actually an oxymoron!
